We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established meat manufacturing business located in Whittingham. The team fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and they are now looking to add a Quality Assurance Officer to support their growth and maintain their reputation for quality.
 
Role Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance Officer to join the team. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet the company’s rigorous quality standards and comply with industry regulations. You will work closely with production teams to monitor processes, implement quality controls, and ensure food safety throughout the manufacturing process.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products to ensure they meet internal specifications and external regulatory standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, including HACCP, FSANZ, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all quality control activities, inspection results, and corrective actions. Prepare detailed quality assurance reports for senior management.
  • Team Training: Provide training and guidance to production staff on food safety practices and quality control standards. Offer support in resolving any quality-related issues on the production floor.
  • Process Improvement: Work collaboratively with the production team to identify opportunities for process improvements, ensuring both quality and efficiency are maintained.
  • Audit Participation: Assist in internal and external audits, providing documentation and supporting corrective actions when required.
  • Customer Complaint Resolution: Investigate customer complaints regarding product quality, taking corrective action as necessary to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
 
Key Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience in a Quality Assurance role, ideally within the meat processing or food manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality control systems, with HACCP certification highly preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in identifying and addressing quality issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically when solving quality-related challenges.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with industry-specific software is a plus.
 
Desirable Skills:
  • A qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline would be advantageous.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, SQF certification, or other quality management systems is desirable.
