Take on a pivotal role with a successful renewable energy business developing utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects. This leadership position requires a candidate with a strong commercial strategy and investment management background within a global fund or project development company.
Ideally you bring 7-10 years of experience managing corporate development and M&A. Collaborating closely with the Managing Director, you’ll drive commercial strategies, lead contract negotiations, and shape the financial and operational success of projects across Australia. Based in Sydney or Melbourne, this is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to transformative projects that align with the global energy transition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead negotiations on critical contracts such as power purchase agreements (PPAs), connection agreements, and voluntary planning agreements
  • Support the development team in managing commercial risks and ensuring project bankability throughout the lifecycle.
  • Identify and pursue M&A opportunities that align with company growth objectives.
  • Develop financial models for solar, wind, and battery storage projects, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to inform strategy and provide insights to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Economics or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in commercial and investment management within the energy sector.
  • Proven expertise in executing M&A transactions and structuring complex project finance deals.
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracts, including PPAs and offtake agreements.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess risks and opportunities.
  • Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging stakeholders such as investors and financial institutions.
