About the Role:
As a Safety Officer you will be a key player in ensuring WHS compliance and promoting a proactive safety culture on-site. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the successful and safe delivery of a high-profile construction project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company safety policies, and procedures.
- Conduct detailed risk assessments, site inspections, and audits to identify hazards.
- Lead incident investigations and develop actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Develop, implement, and review safety plans and SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements).
- Provide comprehensive safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks to all site personnel.
- Facilitate regular safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement strategies.
- Manage and maintain accurate safety records, reporting to management as required.
- Liaise with subcontractors to ensure alignment with WHS standards and project goals.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on-site.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the safety culture and ensure a zero-harm environment.
- Relevant qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (minimum Cert IV in WHS).
- Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of WHS regulations and construction safety standards in NSW.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and educate.
