Position Title: High Voltage Authority
Location: Melbourne, Australia (with travel to wind farm sites across Australia)
We seek a highly skilled High Voltage Authority to join our Australian wind farm teams. Reporting to the Electrical Balance of Plant Services Manager, you will lead all aspects of HV operations, ensuring the delivery of top-notch Electrical Balance of Plant operations and maintenance services. Your pivotal role will contribute significantly to maintaining high availability and ensuring client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the electrical EPC contractors who carry out day-to-day HV switching operations and Access Authority systems.
- Prepare, review, update, and release HV and LV related Procedures and Operating Protocols.
- Maintain records of valid HV authorizations for our technicians and subcontractors.
- Manage training, assessments, and authorizations for our technicians and HV operators.
- Assess and authorize external HV Operators for our wind farm sites.
- Conduct periodic internal HV audits to ensure compliance with our HV and LV Procedures.
- Act as the primary contact for Transmission Network Service Providers, customer representatives, and other stakeholders for HV switching and substation outage planning and coordination.
- Maintain HV operating equipment, ensuring inspections, tests, and calibrations are completed per statutory requirements.
- Assist with coordinating, carrying out, and reporting on EBoP scheduled maintenance in accordance with O&M contract requirements.
- Manage the development and approval of HV switching programs for planned and unplanned outages.
- Extensive power industry experience as an HV Authority with expertise in leading HV switching operations.
- Strong knowledge of HV substation operations and maintenance.
- Ability to read and understand EBoP related primary and secondary drawings.
- Understanding of EBoP SCADA and protection systems.
- Experience in preparing HV switching programs, permits, and protocols.
- Familiarity with Electrical Safety Acts and Regulations applicable to Australian States.
