About the role

You will be tasked with:
  • Leading the Mechanical Design Team of 8 people including this position.
  • Running projects independently but also scheduling and delivering projects through the Mechanical team
  • Business development through networking, building and maintaining relationships with key clients and identifying additional business opportunities through market knowledge and presence
  • Consulting with clients on matters relating to engineering services
  • You will use interpersonal skills to help support generate business opportunities for the consultancy
  • Preparing mechanical design calculations, drawings, specifications and reports
  • Mentoring junior Engineers and team members to your position, allocating projects, ensuring the team is work effectively and to capacity
About the candidate

Ideally you will have:
  • A minimum qualification of Degree in Mechanical Services or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Minimum 7 years plus of experience in a similar role in a consultancy environment, with a significant amount of that locally
  • Understanding of Australian standards in relation to Mechanical / HVAC engineering design
  • Proficiency in a variety of CAD / software programs
  • Ability to manage a team and your own project portfolio concurrently
  • Ability to develop and implement processes and procedures
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, and an ability to work to agreed deadlines
  • Excellent client communication and liaison skills and an ability to convey information accurately and open up business opportunities through interpersonal skills and rapport building
  • Business development skills are desirable
