About the Role

You will provide engineering leadership and technical advice for the long term operations and maintenance of wind and solar farm assets. You will have 7 engineers reporting to you with expertise in different disciplines (electrical, mechanical, reliability etc), so managerial experience is required. Direct renewables experience is highly valuable however not essential - we are open to operations backgrounds from utilities, traditional power sources, water etc. 

Responsibilities
  • Conduct performance and reliability analysis and reporting.
  • Lead or support HSE and engineering failure mode analysis, RCA, and investigations.
  • Manage annual maintenance planning, predictive modeling, and capex budgeting for turbines and substations.
  • Drive asset modernization and optimization through maintenance plans and long-term strategies.
  • Perform end-of-life and end-of-warranty assessments, maintenance integrity checks, and manage new technologies.
  • Develop and maintain spare parts strategies and support quality investigations.
  • Represent Operations in new asset design, handover, and integration processes.
  • Identify and review technological improvements for asset performance and reliability.
  • Verify third-party maintenance activities, manage defects, warranty claims, and full-service contracts.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience, ideally in utility, power plant, or renewable energy operations
  • Knowledge in wind operations, maintenance cycles, and industry best practices highly valued
  • Experience leading multi-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
