We are currently seeking a Field Services Technician to join a leading company at the forefront of the clean energy transition. As part of the Customer Service team, this role is essential in ensuring that our client's products and services exceed customer expectations, fostering long-term relationships by providing top-notch technical support and product optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform testing and commissioning of solar tracking products.
  • Deliver expertise on tracker control systems, including upgrades, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of tracking systems and associated technologies.
  • Oversee commissioning activities and ensure the completion of all testing and quality documentation.
  • Provide world-class technical support to customers, helping to maximize the value they receive from the products and systems.
  • Contribute to third-party qualification for Operations & Maintenance (O&M) providers.
  • Assist with product development, sales, and marketing initiatives.
  • Lead field testing for prototype and beta products.
  • Uphold the company’s professional reputation by liaising with clients regarding remediation activities and warranty conditions.
  • Advocate for customers within the company.
  • Ensure adherence to safety practices and report incidents or areas for improvement.
  • Be available for up to 100% travel.
  • Carry a balance of up to $2,000 on your personal debit/credit card for travel expenses (reimbursed).
  • Location Requirement: Candidates must be based in Australia.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of Australian WHS regulations and safety standards in the construction industry.
  • Experience using JSA and SWMS documents.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience with remote access and VPN technologies.
  • Expertise in wireless technologies, Ethernet networks, and IP-enabled devices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in standard business software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with hand tools (laser levels, torque wrenches, battery drills, air compressors, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Electrical qualification and experience (preferred but not essential).
  • Passion for solar or renewable energy.
  • Knowledge of photovoltaic (PV) technology and its applications.
  • Hands-on experience with photovoltaic tracking solar systems is a plus.
Additional Competencies:
  • WHS: Construction Industry White Card required
